Albert, Candy and I wish you the very best for the coming years. Our photo tour of The Kruger National Park back in September of 2015 was just perfect for us. Everyone had good opportunity to see and photograph a great many animals and scenic vistas. Your great store of knowledge about not only the animals, but the whole region we traversed. Your explanations of history and the many peoples and vegetation in South Africa just capped off a very special trip for us.

I met Albert Roos through a primatology field school that I was a part of. Albert ended up being our local guide and I couldn’t have been happier with the experience. From back road night tours, to hiking up rocky hills looking for primate sleep sites, to cooking amazing locally traditional food; he exceeded our expectations. I was able to ask Albert about any animal or plant that we came across and he would always know the answers. His past careers have taught him a great deal about ecology, zoology, ornithology, and biology to the level where his knowledge made for an unforgettable experience. I felt as though I left South Africa with more knowledge about the areas we visited than I ever could have learned from a book, a movie, or a class. I would highly recommend Albert Roos as a tour guide, and Apex Tours & Safaris to anyone visiting South Africa in the future. When I have the money to return someday, he will be the first person I contact!

It was a wonderful experience traveling with Albert Roos as our guide on an amazing trip to S. Africa’s Kruger Park in September, 2015. Albert handled all details, from transport, to food, to lodging, expertly so that our group of ten could enjoy seeing the beautiful animals, landscape and birds. I especially appreciated Albert’s knowledgeable commentary on the animals, birds and plants. We enjoyed great food and had many laughs along the way. As the only vegan traveller with this group, I felt that Albert did everything possible to accommodate me. Apex Tours & Safaris is one of the best tour operations in South Africa. My colleagues and I booked Apex Tours & Safaris to assist with travel and accommodation during a month-long field school in 2014. Our tour guide, Albert Roos, made us feel like VIPs as we traveled to various wildlife reserves across South Africa. Albert was incredibly friendly, and always made sure that we were healthy and happy. Albert never failed to make us smile, and he was always eager to help us in times of need.

I was able to learn a great deal about South Africa and its wildlife through Albert. Because of Albert’s extensive knowledge on animal behavior, we were able to observe buffalo, elephants, giraffes, hyenas, hippos, lions, and monkeys in their natural habitat on multiple occasions! Thanks to Apex Tours & Safaris, I have many memories that I can always treasure from South Africa. It is clear that Albert Roos truly loves his job, South Africa, and his clients. Apex Tours & Safaris!!! We were a group of 10 visitors from the USA. I was referred to Albert Roos, at Apex Tours & Safaris by my brother as I had no idea where to start organizing our trip to the Kruger National Park. That was the best reference ever. Albert was professional, sensitive to our needs, well organized and always on point! Albert made setting up the trip a breeze and throughout the entire Safari I felt we were in extremely capable hands. We never had to concern ourselves with any of the logistics as Albert took care of it all. Above all, Albert’s knowledge of the Fauna and Flora was inspirational. Not only was Albert capable of answering all our questions, but went far beyond duty by sharing all his knowledge about the veld, the animals, the birds and the bees. We are all so truly grateful for such and amazing trip and feel honored to have had Albert as our Safari leader, our guide, our team leader, and I would like to think we have become good friends too. An memorable experience, even for me as an expat who, while growing up there, has been to the Kruger so many times.
